Mail Art

Good Day!!!!

I hope this finds you all well.
Today I would like to share with you some Mail Art I have started which is just the envelopes so far....I'm still to make the cards. They are bright, some with Grunge, Fairy Tale stamps and Vintage Images. I hope you like them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

I am thinking of having the best ones copied.....if you have any suggestions on best places to have them done on good quality paper I would love to hear from you in the comments below. Vista Print? Office Works? Kwik Copy? For best results do I photograph them or scan them or take them in somewhere????? So many questions...I know. I've got some investigating to do.

I hope your all getting your Craft On!!

This is my first Digital Collage please excuse the gaps. lol

I have since removed the swipe around the gents forehead on the stamp...how annoying.

Just a note.....for the small envelopes.

Coming very soon in the next post a sneak peek at what I have been putting in my bezels.....

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!!

Hello and welcome,

Firstly I would like to apologize to my blog followers for being absent from my blog lately. Things have been so busy the past few months I am falling behind on my blog but have still been posting on Facebook, you can find me under Karen Garrard and my Winton Rose page.  I am also trying a lot of new techniques and am still lucky enough to find some time to create. I haven't been doing my Tim tags as I feel I want to try some different things at the moment.
I am also continuing with Wanderlust which I am really enjoying. I have also started classes  with  Terri Brush which I absolutely LOVE!!! Oh and I almost forgot. Let me add in
Jen Crossley I have also done some of her dvd classes. What talent!! So you can see I have been busy still with much to learn and I'm having the time of my life.

Here are some photos for those who haven't seen what I've been posting on Facebook.

Below  is what I currently  have on my desk. I haven't used a soldering iron in well over 10 years when I did Lead Light, this time everything will be lead free. Hope I don't burn the house down. I WILL be back to share the finished product or soldering catastrophy which ever comes first. lol.

My new arrivals. So excited cant wait to get started. Supplies from http://glasssupplies41.com/ with the exception of the soldering iron.

Life is wonderful!!
Hope you are having a creative day!!

Ice Resin Ice Resin Ice Resin

Ice Resin........ where have you been all my life??????????

Well I Karen Garrard am officially an Ice Resin Junkie*****************

I have managed to used a full 16 oz in the past month.
Below you will find just some of the pieces I have created.
Did I mention I am hooked.
Did I mention I have just received another 16 oz, so look out for future postings with Resin in them.
This is the only Resin I have ever used and I can highly recommend it. It is easy to work with and has a low scent. My favourite so far would have to be open back bezels using tape, using material in my work, and images.
I'm off to watch some more YouTube Videos and experiment some more.

Oh and what fun I have had.

Here is a cute little mirror I bought about 10 years ago from an Antique Store. I took a cast of it and am making some copies to use in my work.

Enjoy whats left of the weekend everyone:)

New Arrivals

Hello again,

Just trying to catch you all up with what I have been doing. These are some new goodies that have arrived lately and some beading I have been working on.

There are some Sales Tax Tokens, Vintage Vacuum Tubes would you believe, Optical Lenses, Brass Bullet casings just to name a few. Now for the hardest part to decide what they will be used for.

These chains are by no means a work of art, but I am enjoying working with them. All the beads and sequences were given to me by my lovely Auntie Mieke who no longer had any need for them. It was time to pull it all out and have a play.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Back in a jiffy.lol.

Happy Birthday Oma

I would like to extend a very Happy Birthday to my  beautifully glamorous late grandmother.
Loved and missed very much.

Hello and welcome,

This is a little  something we have been working on in the wonderful online class WANDERLUST. I have had so much fun creating these I think it is fair to say I am hooked and better still these little works of art are so easy and relaxing to do.

There is still time to join in all the fun if you would like to. Here is the link HERE

Welcome, welcome, welcome,

The Village Dwelling....The Village Winter Die and the Village Bell Tower......have you heard of them?? I'm sure many of you have if you are a Tim Holtz fan.....well they landed on my doorstep only a few days ago all the way from SCRAPBOOK.COM. One of my FAVOURITE shops.

I had a few spare hours yesterday and thought I would give the construction ago. They are surprisingly easy to construct and I have to say the detail that has gone into the design of these little beauties is amazing. Thank-you Tim!!!! Love them!!

***Please note mine are made purely from white card stock and inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Absolutely no character compared to the ones you can see elsewhere. These ones were given to my children who very happily carried them into they're bedrooms for the night.

If you haven't already seen this post........here is a real treat for you. The very talented Annette from Annette's Creative Journey has been making some of these for CHA 2016 and others that will be available soon. HERE is the link.
There are soooo many options with this Village Set I cant wait to make some more....the possibilies are endless.

Thank-you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back real soon.
